Monday: At work, nothing was interesting. I accidentally killed a spider with my chair, but I don’t know if that’s interesting; it’s different, though. As always, I spend the day listening to podcasts. First, Xadrez Verbal #250 + 6 anos. Then, The AFTN Soccer Show Episode 450 was my first time listening to the show; I liked it because of the interviews, but I could live without the musicals interludes. Last but not least, Caneca de Mamicas 01; I don’t know what to think; I’m afraid that I’ll get tired after a couple of episodes. I don’t know, let’s see what happens. Commuting, I read a couple of issues of Far Sector, and while walking back home, I had a sad moment. Fortunately, it didn’t last. At home, I wrote my fourth newsletter to Soaring Penguin Press, ate dinner, shaved and wrote this paragraph. That was my day. See you tomorrow!
Tuesday: The Writers’ Union of Canada said I couldn’t join them even though I already published books, that’s the most recent “no” in a long list of negatives that I received throughout life, and I finally reached my tipping point; moving forward, I’ll have no aspiration, no ambitions, whatever life gives me I’ll accept. I’m tired of trying; from now on, as long as I’m paying my bills, I’ll be satisfied. At work, I’ve listened to PODNEXT-EP-58-CUBA; This American Life 233: Starting From Scratch; The Third Sub Episode 93: ‘Caps get back to winning ways against CF Montreal, look to continue form against struggling Minnesota United; Crime Junkie MURDERED: Rosie Tapia; LORE 170. Episode 170: Into The Wild; My Favorite Murder with Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark: MFM Minisode 226; The History Chicks 179. Mary Seacole, Revisited; and Guaxaverso #19 – Comentários sobre o RPGuaxa #75. Now, I’ll watch Miami Heat @ Boston Celtics.
Wednesday: I never seriously think about going back to Brazil, but bring my friends to Canada is something that I desire with all my heart. At work, I’ve listened to Petit Journal: O que está acontecendo em Jerusalém?; 1865 Season 2: 3. Prologue 3: The Second Front; In God we Lust: 5. The Kamikaze Route; Noble Blood: 49. The Mad Tyrant, Hey Hey!; Mythology: Journey to the West: The Tang Monk Pt. 2; Cabinet of Curiosities: 301. Root Cause; British Scandal: 4. The Litvinenko Affair | The Russian Runaround; American Scandal: 4. Lance Armstrong | Coming Clean; True Spies: 55. Her Majesty’s Secret Service; Ridiculous History: A Race Across the World: From New York to Paris in 1908; Miçangas: Flávia, A Chacareira (Miçangas #138); Myths and Legends: 224–African Folklore: It’s the Great Pumpkin, Kiali; Slow Burn: 4. Fighting Words; and Petit Journal: Sem combustível. I took a nap when I got home; I was too tired. While I write this newsletter, I’m watching Toronto FC vs. Columbus SC, waiting for the beginning of Minnesota United FC vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC; I never thought I’d care so much for MLS, but life is surprising.
Thursday: The Whitecaps lost 1×0, and I don’t know they did that. They were far superior, but then they weren’t, and Marc dos Santos didn’t do any subs! I don’t understand him; I don’t know why he hates subs so much. At work, there were burgers. It was okay, but it was a nice change of pace. I listened to My Favorite Murder: 274 with Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark – Arrested Behavior—unsubscribed, even though the minisodes are good, the regular ones are awful; Cabinet of Curiosities: 332. Uncanny Resemblance; The Sneak: 7. Hot Shoe; RPGuaxa: A Déxima Nona Coroa (RPGuaxa #76); Petit Journal: BP 221 – Israel, Palestina, França, Inflação nos EUA e commodities; The Apology Line: 1. Who’s Sorry Now?; The Apology Line: 2. Going Public; The Apology Line: 3. Your Dungeon or Mine?; The Apology Line: 4. To Catch A Serial Killer; and The Apology Line: 5. Mrs. Apology—I didn’t finish, though, because of Real Madrid’s game. By the way, Los Blancos won 4×1 against Granada. I liked some young players, but the result itself is useless. I’ll write Death is Eternal Review #02 as soon as I wrap here, which is now. See you tomorrow—it’s weird to say “see you tomorrow” because you read all this on the same day, it’s tomorrow only for me.
Friday: Nothing interesting at work, only the following podcasts: The Apology Line: 5. Mrs. Apology; The Apology Line: 6. Strawberry Fields Forever; The Apology Line: 7. And The Calls Live On; Final Days on Earth: Paul Wagner Interview; Final Days on Earth: Who is Dammion Heard?; Final Days on Earth: The Party; Final Days on Earth: Missing; Final Days on Earth: Body of Evidence; Nerdcast: 777 – Invencível, profundo, tosco e surpreendente; The AFTN Soccer Show: 453. Episode 451 – The AFTN Soccer Show (Try Another Flavour – Minnesota v Vancouver postgame, KC preview, MLS salaries); Foro de Teresina: 150. Da pedalada à tratorada; The Third Sub: Episode 94: ‘Caps tumble vs Minnesota United, get set to bounce back against Sporting KC; and Petit Journal: Boletim da crise. After work, I went to Rain City Games and bought a Jigsaw Puzzle—The Scream, Edvard Munch—and a board game—Dual Powers: Revolution 1917. The Jigsaw was a surprise to my wife; I’m excited about the board game, mainly because of the theme. Today is Friday, so I’m in a better mood, which is a good change of pace. Monday or Tuesday, I’ve decided to create Death is Eternal Review, only 100ish words in each piece due to time; I can write it in about ten minutes; it’s more sustainable to me. Now, I’ll go read.
Saturday: Today, we send the old mattress to be stored—it came with the apartment, and the owner didn’t allow us to sell nor wanted to keep it. It’s weird to have it no longer in the middle of the living room; I liked the unique aspect of having a mattress in the living room. I’m weird like that. I’ve also picked up the Whitecaps jersey I won; the store was in North Vancouver, so my wife drove for the first time in Canada. It was a little stressful because it was a shared car and it’s another country but, in the end, everything worked out. At home, I read many comics, and that was basically it for today.
Sunday: Busy morning. With Real Madrid’s game at 9:30 a.m. and Vancouver Whitecaps’ one at 11 a.m. I had to watch two games at the same time—for a couple of minutes. And write about one while watching the other so the recaps could be published faster. I should earn some money for such a tremendous dedication, but I don’t. After finishing this newsletter, I’ll go clean the house and buy food at the supermarket. Then, I’ll feel depressed at the fact that tomorrow I have to work. Sundays are hard for me. Actually, only Saturdays are really easy; all the others days are depressing. That’s how I roll now. I guess we do what we have to do. I hope you liked this new format. Bye!
